About
The last thing the world needs is another blog. But hey. The last thing the world needs is more frozen, high calorie concoctions from Starbucks, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to stop inventing new ones…Hence. My new blog.
Why Marketing Kitty? Because I’m a marketer who happens to have cats? Well, yeah, that’s true.
Hi Moneypenny.
But also because the name was available. And it’s a sort of play on words off my personal blog, Knit Kitty Knit, something started a few years ago when I learned how to knit and wanted to learn how to blog. It’s woefully abandoned at this point — work keeps me a bit too busy to knit, and if you’re not knitting, how do you maintain a blog about knitting?
I currently have my own marketing consulting business. Most recently I ran the marketing department for Techweb’s Live Events group which produced trades shows and conferences in the technology space. Web 2.0 Expo, Enterprise 2.0 Conference, Interop, VoiceCon were some of the brands. While there, one of my challenges was figuring out what marketing in my group was to look like over the next few years and how to bring the team and the brands more current.
This blog was the start of my ramblings in making the transition from the old world of marketing to the new world of social marketing and reaching out to the community for suggestions and advice along the way. It’s evolved a bit into my thoughts and comments about general marketing topics that pique my interest and I hope you’ll take part.

I was taking a break from the never ending disaster that is my house, and while my son Will (yes, i have a child!) is upstairs busying himself making slime (don’t ask) I thought I would check my email. And then I started plugging in names of people I’ve lost contact with. Since you are one of them your name got typed in. And I remembered after all these years it’s Stacy with no E.
Wow girl! sounds like you are doing great! I just had to drop a line to tell you that. I haven’t had a chance to read all your things and such, but when I saw Ziff I knew it was you. Then I delved a little more and saw your pic. Here is where I found a place to send a note. I’m not on Facebook or any of that. Friends are trying to convince me so I may cave.
Will is screaming for breakfast. Pancakes. So gotta run. Write me?

XO Julie
